Midnight Mass – A Cherished Christmas Eve Tradition

Midnight Mass is one of the most enduring traditions associated with Christmas. Celebrated on Christmas Eve, it commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ and brings communities together in an atmosphere of reflection, music and celebration.

The tradition is connected to the Christian practice of a vigil, marking the beginning of a holy day with evening prayer and worship. Churches are filled with candlelight, nativity scenes and the fragrance of incense, while carols and traditional hymns create a memorable festive atmosphere. In the Czech Republic, Midnight Mass is celebrated in churches of every size, from small village chapels to magnificent landmarks such as St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague.

Designed by medal maker Ludmila Kracíková, DiS., the obverse of this silver medal depicts a family making its way to Midnight Mass through a snow-covered winter landscape. A comet shines above the church, adding a magical touch to the scene and evoking the wonder of the Christmas story.

The reverse offers another charming festive detail, incorporating a children's choir singing a Christmas carol into a hairpin design. This thoughtful composition celebrates the music, family traditions and shared moments that make Christmas so special.

Complete with gift wrapping that allows for a personal dedication, this silver medal is a thoughtful way to commemorate the season, preserve a cherished Christmas tradition or give someone a meaningful festive keepsake.

Add this beautiful Czech Mint Midnight Mass Silver Medal to your collection or gift it to someone special this Christmas!
